Iran, today, made it clear that they are reluctant to speak to U. S. special envoy Steve Witkoff or for for that matter with the son-in-law of the U. S. President, Jared Kushner
The talks are regarding the ceasefire of the ongoing crisis in Iran and West Asia.
However, the Islamic nation has expressed interest in speaking to the U. S. Vice President J. D. Vance.
Iran thinks holding talks with Witkoff and Kushner won’t be a productive one. As there was a breach of trust following the breakdown of negotiations with both Israel and United States striking Iran
Iran felt comfortable in speaking to Vice President Vance as he is sympathetic to end the war compared to Witkoff and Kushner and even the secretary of state Marco Rubio.
Earlier U. S. President Donald Trump said that all key members of his diplomatic team were involved in negotiations. Vice President Vance, Marco Rubio, Kushner, Witkoff and Trump himself constitutes the diplomatic team.
“U. S. has won the war. Iran’s Navy and Air Force has been completely decimated,” added Trump.
White House press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, said that only Trump can decide who can negotiate on behalf of the United States.
