International Cricket Council, or the ICC, have released the latest rankings of the teams as well as the players for all the three formats of this gentleman’s game.
Team rankings — Test cricket
In the latest rankings it have been found that Australian dominance continues in the longest format of the game. India has been placed in fourth position on the table
However, when it comes to 50 overs One Day Internationals (ODI) and T20 cricket Indian dominance starts as it has been placed in number one on the table.
Canada, didn’t find any position in the Test rankings but are placed in 19th position on both the ODIs as well as in the T20 rankings.
What is more alarming for India is that the team has played three tests more than the Aussies and yet lingering in fourth position on the points table.
Defending champions South Africa, however, consolidating their position by occupying the second position in the points tally.
Why not we take a look into the standings of the teams in Test cricket.

Team rankings — ODI s
India, on the other hand, are playing good cricket when it comes to ODI and T20.
Recently India became the first team to lift the T20 World Cup back to back and as far as ODIs are concerned the team is gelling as an unit.
It appears all is not well with team India when it comes to test cricket. The sudden retirements of players like R. Ashwin, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli give rise to this speculation.
Since 2023 ODI world cup, India is playing as an unit. Not just in batting but in bowling and fielding as well. Indian batting order is rock solid with the talented players like Shuvman Gill, Shreyas Iyer apart from the stars mentioned above. Jaspreet Bumrah is leading the bowling attack.

Top test batters
It isn’t a surprise that Joe Root of England holds the top position in the Test batter list. Root is in his prime form of his life. When it comes to test cricket it’s a tough challenge for the opposition bowlers to send the former England captain back to the pavilion. It won’t be a surprise if Root surpasses the “God” Sachin Tendulkar and create a new world record.
Root is closely followed by his teammate Harry Brook. Who can forget Brook’s magnificent triple ton against Pakistan and a world record partnership with Joe Root. This partnership created one more history as Pakistan became the first team to lose by an innings inspite of scoring 500+ in their first innings.
Travis Head of Australia is an intelligent cricketer. He is holding the third position in the Test batter list. Head, single handedly, tilted the matches in Australia’s favour on number of occasions.

Pakistan achieved some success at home courtesy their spin attack and deservedly Noman Ali occupied the second position.
Those batters will be living in a fool’s paradise who will take Mitchell Starc lightly. Starc, even at this age, is capable of creating a sensation. He is holding the third position.
