This year the sporting calendar of Canada will be jampacked with a lot of actions. Here’s how ?
Football : This year the world cup will be hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico. Canada will be hosting it’s matches against Bosnia and Herzegovina (on June 12 at Toronto), Switzerland (on June 18 at Vancouver) and Qatar (on June 24 at Vancouver)
Tennis : National Bank Open will be held from August 1 to 13 at Montreal and Toronto. The players to watch out for are Victoria Mboko, the defending women’s champions, Leylah Fernandes who will be playing in Toronto and Félix Auger-Aliassime, bronze medalist at the Paris olympics in 2024. He will be playing in Montreal.
Beach Volleyball : Montreal will be hosting Beach Pro Tour Elite 16 tournament from August 19 to 23. A high voltage Volleyball is on the cards. The players to watch out for are the defending champions Melissa Humana-Paredes and Brandie Wilkerson.
Artistic Swimming : World Aquatics Artistic Swimming World Cup 2026 super finals will be held in Toronto from June 19 to 21. An exciting creative sporting extravaganza is on the cards.
Swimming : Bell Canadian Swimming Trials will be taking place from July 5 to 9 at Montreal. This event gives a chance to the budding swimmers to create an impact. The players to watch out for are Summer McIntosh and Josh Liendo
Canoe / Kayak : ICF Canoe Sprint World Cup will be taking place at Montreal from July 9 to 12. This is a very exciting event both for the participants as well as the fans.
Road Cycling : UCI Road World Championships will be hosted by Montreal from September 20 to 27. This is the place where all the leading cyclists aim to cast their mark. Magdeleine Vallières will be the participant where all the focus will be shifted on.
Mountain Bike : Downhill UCI Mountain Bike World Series will be taking place in Whistler from September 25 to 27. This is also one of the exciting sporting event to watch out for.
Golf : RBC Canadian Open will be starting from June 10 to 14 at Ontario. This is one of the historic sporting events of Canada where top golfers aim to cast a mark.
Canadian Women’s Open will be starting from August 19 to 23 at Edmonton.
Athletics : Ottawa will be hosting the Canadian Track and Field championships from June 17 to 21.
Wrestling : Canadian wrestling championships for senior, junior and cadet levels will be taking place from May 28 to 30 at Montreal
