India passing through golden phase : Nikhil Chopra

Former Indian spinner Nikhil Chopra appreciated the current Indian team.

Congratulating the team for lifting the Men’s cricket T20 World Cup, Chopra said that currently the team is passing through a golden phase. He also expressed optimism that the current Indian team will be able to lift the 50 over one day international (ODI) world cup in 2027 to be held in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia.

It may be recalled that India became the first team to lift T20 men’s world in consecutive occasions. Out of these two world cups India lost just a single match. That against South Africa.

Even in 50 overs ODI world cup India has performed extremely well. In the last world cup held in 2023, India were unbeatable throughout until they lost to Australia in the Grand Finale.
