New kind of cancer cause identified

In a major discovery, scientists have found that two types of colon polyps have the capacity of increasing bowel cancer five times.

These kind of polyps have separate cancer pathways within themselves Approximately half of the patients having serrated polyps also develop adenomas. This have made this particular disease more common than expected.

This development has highlighted the importance of early detection and regular colonoscopy monitoring.

The scientists hail from Flinders University and Flinders Medical Center. They have identified that there are connections between two kinds of bowel polyps and greater risk of cancer.

The scientists have recorded there findings in a journal named Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology.
