Ruling NDA has made a clean sweep in the Rajya Sabha elections held in Bihar. They won all the five seats leaving the opposition Mahagathbandhan fragmented.
State BJP chief Sanjay Saraogi termed it a ‘big victory ‘ for the saffron outfit. “BJP led NDA fought the election unitedly whereas the opposition Congress and RJD were pitted against each other inspite of naming their alliance as ‘Mahagathbandhan’,” he said.
Reaction of BJP
Bihar minister Ram Kripal Yadav and senior BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad were in jubilating mood. “This win proves how strong NDA is. Entire state of Bihar is behind NDA. Look at the opposition. They have no faith upon their own MLA s,” they said.
And the winners are…
The NDA candidates who made it to the upper house of parliament are :
₹₹ Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar
₹₹ BJP President Nitin Nabin
₹₹ RLM Chief Upendra Kushwaha
₹₹ Ram Nath Thakur of JD(U)
₹₹ Shivesh Ram of BJP
However, the opposition has termed NDA’s victory a result of horse trading.
RJD M. P. Amarendra Dhari Singh stated that NDA can do horse trading very well. They are expert in this. “We lost despite winning,” Singh said.
