Naxalites eradication possible due to continuous process : Opposition

Opposition leaders have stepped up the attack on Narendra Modi government after Union Home minister Amit Shah took credit by stating that it was this government that got rid of the Naxalites.

Shiv Sena (UBT) spokesperson Priyanka Chaturvedi slammed Amit Shah and said that only a single government can’t perform this herculean task and that every government has played some role or the other in Naxal eradication.

Earlier, Congress leader Manickram Tagore claimed that many Congress leaders have lost their lives while carrying out this mission.

It can be recalled that Naxalites have spread their wings right from eastern part of Maharashtra, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar and upto Nepal.

Several prominent Naxal leaders like Kishan ji were being killed much before NDA government came to power.

Priyanka Chaturvedi, in her X (formerly Twitter) handle has termed Shah’s comments as “unfortunate.” She continued to say that Shah’s comments didn’t appear to be the comments of Union Home minister but of a BJP leader. She further said that eradication of Naxalites was possible only due to a continuous process.
